Album of the week

I'm going to try and give you an idea of some of the music I'm listening to while I'm working. One of the big benefits of working alone is that you can play whatever you want knowing you won't be upsetting anybody's music sensibilities - apart from the neighbour's of course.

I should say at the outset that I'm still a bit old fashioned, preferring to buy CDs rather than download them. The art work, lyrics and other information that comes with the CD is all part of the music buying experience.

Top of the list this week is
The Stone Roses, The Remixes. The Stone Roses debut album was one of the most influential albums of the late 1980's early 1990's and one which was played to death by me when it first came out. I can't think of a bad track on the album, with my favourite track being I Am The Resurrection. I found this remix collection the other week in Fopp and paid the princely sum of £5 to add it to my collection.

The full track listing is as follows:
1. Shoot You Down (Soul Hooligan)
2. Fools Gold (A Guy Called Gerald)
3. Made of Stone (808 State)
4. Waterfall (Paul Oakenfold & Steve Osborne)
5. One Love (Utah Saints)
6. I Wanna Be Adored (Rabbit In The Moon)
7. Fools Gold (Grooverider)
8. I Am The Resurrection (Jon Carter)
9. Waterfall (Justin Robertson)
10. She Bangs The Drums (Elephant)
11. Elizabeth My Dear (Kinobe)
12. Elephant Stone (Mint Royale)

with a whole host of well kent mixing gurus delivering their take on some of the classic songs off the original album. If you like the Stone Roses then you won't be disappointed in this album.
